Lent

Lent

At St Mary’s we have two Lent Groups, meeting Tuesday mornings (10am at the Vicarage) and Thursday evenings (7.30pm at the Community Centre); a Team Lent Talk, moving around the South Cotswolds area on a Tuesday evening; and of course the wonderful Fairford Gospels at 12.30pm on a Friday.

Don’t forget too that our prayer team are offering prayer Monday—Thursday at 12am, and you’re welcome to join them.

Whatever you’re doing we wish you a holy and blessed Lent.

An Afternoon of Romanian Culture

An Afternoon of Romanian Culture
Saturday 23rd March, 4 – 6pm
Fairford Community Centre

You are warmly invited to join us for an afternoon of rare insight into one of the poorest countries on our continent.

You will hear from Cristi and Lidia – the key, full-time workers from SU Romania – passionately sharing their own stories and from the South Cotswold Team (about to embark on their 5th mission trip) as they speak about their life-changing experiences.

It’s an opportunity to learn more about the country and work there via heart-warming tales, a quiz, pictures and song! Plus a chance to speak informally to our dynamic, young visitors.

Please come and support this FREE event. Tea and cakes served; ample free, local parking.

For more details please contact SCT Youth Worker, Chris Saunders, on saundersc2014@gmail.com or 07918732040.

Charity of the Month:
Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals is a charity set up to provide chronically underfed children with one meal at school every single day. Their vision: that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things.

As their CEO, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow said: "What’s important to us is the hungry child. When there are hungry children in front of us today, we’re going to feed them, and at the same time we’re going to work on the solution to getting them fed in the long term, creating a global movement of people who believe in this vision."

Currently Mary’s Meals operates in 18 countries around the world, across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean.
