Charity of the Month:
The National Star College
National Star works with young people with disabilities, helping them to realise their potential through
education and personalised learning opportunities, and through the provision of transition and accommodation services.,
The young people are supported through programmes that emphasise creative and performing arts, communication and life skills,
and through their comprehensive team of therapists, including speech and language specialists, physiotherapists, occupational
therapists and behaviour specialists.
The college is local - based at Ullenwood in Gloucestershire, and works with young people both locally and nationally.
As a community resource, the national centre is also able to offer short break opportunities, and other health and wellbeing
services such as activity and therapeutic breaks; and as a recognised centre of excellence, National Star is able to use
its expertise in order to offer training and development programmes for professionals.
In John’s Gospel, Jesus promised that he came to bring life in its fullness to all people. The work of the National Star is
very much in the spirit of that promise - lifting up and empowering those who society might otherwise sideline or ignore.
Vacancy notices for St Mary's
We could do with a few more people to provide us with coffee after the 10 o'clock service each Sunday
At the moment we can cover two months and have had several offers recently which will extend the gap to nearly
three months. If you also would like to help provide coffee after the 10 o'clock service once every three months
please contact Sarah on 712074 or talk to anyone on the rota. Full instructions provided!
At Messy Church once a month we finish the session with a shared meal ( pasta bake, cottage pie or similar). The team would very much
appreciate some help with this catering. (All expenses are covered) If you feel you could help prepare a meal on an occasional basis
we would like to hear from you. For more details please contact Sarah on 712074 or email email@example.com or talk to one of the team.
