Romanian Youth Mission Trip

In early July our youth worker, Chris, both interns and 4 intrepid young people from across the South Cotswolds Team will venture into the unknown in reaching out to the often-neglected, Romany community in southern Romania.

Working through the local church via a Scripture Union link we will seek to embody a faith in Jesus Christ through practical signs of love and compassion.

If you are able to support us in any way, via prayer or a financial encouragement , please do get in touch with the SCT Youth Worker, Chris Saunders, on (01452) 301042 or email.

Charity of the Month:
Coram

Coram

This was the UK’s first children’s charity and champions what matters most for children. For some children it is the practical support that Coram provides for thousands of families each year. For others, it’s an overwhelming need to be adopted into a stable and loving home. Coram works with more than 15,000 children and parents every year. Coram Children’s Legal Centre offers free specialist advice to thousands more and Coram Life Education provides health and drug education to a further 800,000 school children. From creative therapies for traumatised children, to supported housing for care leavers, we create better chances and a brighter happier future.

Coram has been creating better chances for children for over 270 years. Established as the Foundling Hospital by philanthropist Thomas Coram in Bloomsbury that offered a home for abandoned children dying on London streets. The world has changed, but too many children are still alone and at risk, marginalised at school or without a place they can call home. The charity provides the care and support today’s children need to feel safe and loved and to take responsibility for their own lives.

For further information please write to Coram, 49 Mecklenburgh Square, London WC1N 2QA or email or telephone 02075200300.
