Do you have ideas of other things we should be doing? Did you enjoy meeting and working with members of the other churches in Fairford?

Churches Together Around Fairford would love to hear your ideas at the AGM. It’s also a good place to continue meeting and working with members of the other churches.

We need people with ideas and suggestions to join us. If you are interested in knowing more please talk to: Helen Evans (01285 713431) or Sarah Bottomley (01285 712074) Email.

Charity of the Month:
People for You

People for You

People For You is an established and well regarded volunteer befriending and support service, aimed at the many older, isolated and vulnerable people living in the Lechlade, Fairford, Tetbury and surrounding area of the South Cotswolds.  The overall aim of the project is to reduce isolation and is entirely supported by local volunteers who offer a free, confidential service and the only one of its kind in the area.

A volunteer visitor calling regularly each week, offering friendship and a listening ear has a positive impact on a client’s state of mind, their sense of wellbeing and community belonging. Meaningful social interaction helps build resilience and the ability to cope with factors that affect mental and physical health. Many of the older people supported by the project are disabled, have mobility issues, are housebound or perhaps in the early stages of dementia.

Recruitment of volunteers takes place on a regular basis to cope with the demand for the service.
