Fundraising Success
We would like to extend a huge thank you to ALL those who helped to make Bingo and Supper Evening
on 12th December such a success!!!
All our ‘Little Helpers’ worked so hard to ensure everything went smoothly and without any technical hitches!
We would like to particularly thank Barry & Jean who, once again, did a superb job with the task of ‘calling’ for us.
The profit was a grand total of £746.13 which is terrific boost to the coffers!!
Thank you once again Barbara and Becky
Charity of the Month: Ordination Candidates Training Fund (OCTF)
Its purpose is to assist in the training of candidates for Holy Orders in the Church of England and for foreign mission
work holding distinctly evangelical views.
The fund was founded in 1937 to continue the work of the Rev Harold Salmon who as a Vicar indentified and fostered
a vocation to the Ordained Ministry amongst people who, in those days, lacked the necessary formal education to be
considered for training. The fund has always sought to help those considering ordination to come to a place where
the financial responsibility of their subsequent training will be undertaken by the Dioceses and Ministry
Division. Over the years their work has been able to expand their financial commitments to seek out and assist
new groups of people who God is calling to the Ordained Ministry of the Church of England.
Currently financial assistance is usually either a ’Salmon Bursary’ of £1900 per academic term or a one off grant
of no more than £500. The Directors prefer to know that other bodies are also contributing and that applicants
are being economical in their own life style. The Directors meet three times a year. Preferred means of
correspondence is by email to The Honary Secretary of the Fund, Edward Peacock, 24 Ferndale Tunbridge Wells
Kent TN2 3NS. Tel: 01892 543206. Email.
There is some literature along the shelf of the south wall. Everyone is encouraged to support the Fund and the work of the charity.

Previous Charity Fundraising
When the money in the south wall box was counted for the November charity, Combat Stress, it came to
£34.65 to which the PCC will add further amounts. The collection during the Remembrance Service
raised £716.16 which is very much appreciated by the Legion.
