Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust Annual Ride and Stride
This annual fund-raising event will take place on Saturday, 12th September. Participants ride
(cycle or horseback) or walk their own planned route to visit as many churches as they wish. Sponsorship is sought -
our members were very generous last year, helping us to raise over £700. Half of the sum raised goes to GHCT and
half to our own church.
If you would like to participate this year or merely seek more details please speak to
me in person or call me on 01285 712421. Please also have a look at the poster in the church porch.

Charity of the Month: The Prospect Hospice, Wroughton
This month's choice of charity reflects the recent upsurge in cancer funerals at St Mary's and the fact
that over the last six months at least two of our parishioners have benefitted from Prospect's care.
Some years ago, the Friends of Fairford Hospital negotiated an agreement, funded by the Friends, with Prospect
Hospice for people within the Fairford and Lechlade communities to have access to their full support services
in the same way as patients from their own catchment area. This arrangement has proved a great success and of
considerable benefit to local people. We believe that families and friends will like to have this opportunity to
demonstrate their support for the care provided by the Hospice.
Information about Prospect Hospice and the care which is offered will be available in the church.
If you are interested in becoming an individual regular contributor/supporter and would like more information
please write direct to the Fund Raising Department, Prospect Hospice, Moormead Road, Wroughton, Swindon SN4 9BY.
